Dr. Mary Brennan, DNP, AGACNP-BC, ANP, FAANP is Program Director of the Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Program at New York University, Rory Meyers College of Nursing. As an educator, she specializes in developing innovative strategies to engage students and was awarded the Inaugural Dean’s Teaching Award In 2018. Her practice and scholarship over the last 20 years has involved the treatment of patients with a variety of cardiovascular diseases including coronary artery disease, heart failure, arrhythmias, hypertension and hypercholesterolemia. She is a member of the America Heart Association Planning Committee to develop educational materials focused on COVID and health care. She has recently published a chapter in the Contemporary Nephrology Nursing on oral health and kidney disease and has lectured extensively on the connection between oral health and cardiovascular disease. She is the Co-Chair of the Evidence-Based Practice Research Interest Group at the Eastern Nursing Research Society and Chair of the Nurse Practitioner Simulation Committee at the National Organization of Nurse Practitioner Faculty.
